Quality Welding Gas

Proven to lower your cost per metre welded

Do you think of welding gas as just a cost? Have you ever considered choosing a welding gas that works harder?

Welding gas only makes up 3% of the overall welding cost so is not a big decision, right? Wrong! Choosing the optimal gas for your set-up should bring multiple benefits for your business.

At Air Products we have a complete range of welding gases, services and supply modes for all applications.  Our Maxx® welding gases deliver the highest levels of performance - including better weld quality and faster welding speeds – to maximise productivity, reduce rejects and improve your working environment.

Introducing the Maxx® Gases

Benefits of Maxx® Gases

Maxx® gases have a positive impact on various aspects of the welding operation leading to an overall lower cost per metre welded:

  • Lower reject rates – greater weld penetration, minimal defects
  • Visual improvements – smoother, cleaner, brighter welds
  • Higher productivity – up to 35% increase in manual weld travel speeds and less post-weld cleaning
  • Lower wire consumption – flatter welds and minimal spatter generation
  • Reduced power consumption

Mode of Supply

Whatever the size of your business, we have a gas solution for you. We have welding gas supply options ranging from 10 litre portable cylinders to 60.000 litre tanks. Our compact 30 litre, 300 bar innovative Integra® cylinder has a built-in regulator for safer, faster changeovers. Click below for more information

Don't let spatter grind you down

Spatter is made up of many thousands of droplets of molten filler metal that escape from the weld pool and are scattered around the work area during welding. These small, round balls of molten metal can fall on the welder, workpiece, the floor and surrounds. Sometimes they stick and are difficult to remove, sometimes they cool and form tiny balls of metal. It is not possible to completely eliminate spatter from a MIG/MAG welding process. However, the objective should be to reduce as much as possible. The following article briefly explains how spatter occurs, how to remove or prevent it, and explores the hidden costs that spatter creates
