Decarbonization of European Refineries: A first agreement signed between TotalEnergies and Air Products for the delivery of Green Hydrogen

TotalEnergies and Air Products have signed a 15-year agreement for the annual supply in Europe of 70,000 tons of green hydrogen starting in 2030. This first long-term deal follows TotalEnergies’ call for tenders for the supply of 500,000 tons per year of green hydrogen to decarbonize TotalEnergies’ European refineries.

First fire cadets unit launched in Immingham

Humberside Fire and Rescue launched its first Immingham Fire Cadets unit with funding provided by Air Products, the world’s largest hydrogen supplier. The launch event, which took place at Immingham West Fire Station, brought together Humberside Fire and Rescue, the Mayor of North Lincolnshire Jane Longcake and proud families along with the Cadets and representatives from Air Products.

New £1.5 million facility to meet green skill needs of the future

CATCH recently opened a new facility at their Skills and Apprenticeship Centre which was made possible by a £1.5 million funding investment from sponsors in the region including Air Products, CCS members Phillips 66 Limited, Harbour Energy, Drax and ABP together with Uniper, the ECITB and Humber Freeport.

CATCH is poised to play a pivotal role in steering more young individuals towards STEM careers, as part of the broader Humber Skills Plan to increase training output by tenfold by 2029.

Air Products, Airbus, easyJet and London Gatwick Collaborating on Hydrogen Hub

Airbus has teamed up with London Gatwick, easyJet and Air Products to expand hydrogen capability and infrastructure in the UK as the manufacturer moves closer to its target of getting a hydrogen powered aircraft in the sky by 2035. The Hydrogen Hubs at Airports framework is an important milestone in paving the way for sustainable aviation and future proofing the UK economy. 

Air Products is committed to helping the UK become a global leader in low carbon hydrogen production. By collaborating with partners and government leaders on this project further investments in renewable hydrogen can be unlocked. These include Air Products’ plans for a large-scale renewable hydrogen facility in Immingham.

Large-scale Green Hydrogen for the UK

Air Products and Associated British Ports (ABP) are partnering to bring the first large-scale, green hydrogen production facility to the UK. The facility will import green ammonia from production locations operated by Air Products and its partners around the world. The green ammonia will be used to produce green hydrogen, which will decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors such as transport and industry.
