Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for all those working with cryogenic gases such as liquid nitrogen and dry ice. The content is relevant for those filling and handling cryogenic gases in industries such as medical, engineering, manufacturing and produce.

Course content
This training course combines classroom and practical demonstration to provide learners with an understanding of the hazards and properties of cryogenic gases used in industries such as medical, engineering, manufacturing and produce.
After the classroom element of the course (3.5 hours) learners will have an understanding of:
- User behaviour & perceptions
- Incident case study
- Gas properties
- Hazards caused by cryogens: cold; asphyxiation; Oxygen enrichment; pressure
- Carbon dioxide & dry ice
- Functions of pressurised vessels
- Ice plugs
- Embrittlement
- PPE & First aid
During the practical element of the course (1 - 1.5 hours) learners will have the opportunity to undertake:

Course Outcomes
After successfully passing a multiple-choice test and practical assessment a Certificate of Achievement & Gas Safety Passport demonstrating the delegate has been provided with, and has understood, the safety requirements for the safe use of cryogenic gases and equipment. Certificate validity is 3 years.
