Gas Pipes and Lines

Portable Leak Detection Gas

5% hydrogen in nitrogen mixture of our leak detection gas is combined in our portable innovative Integra® 10 litre cylinder.

This safe, non-flammable gas mixture works as an effective tracer gas for a broad range of applications. The smallest of leaks can be identified, as hydrogen is one of the smallest molecules.

Performing Leak Detection

How does Leak Detection Gas work?

Hydrogen leak testing is the method in which a pressure vessel or installation is checked for leaks or flaws. This usually involves charging hydrogen as a tracer gas into the device undergoing testing, with any leaking gas detected by hydrogen sensors.

During the hydrogen sensor test, the object is filled with a mixture of 5% hydrogen/95% nitrogen.

Note - hydrogen is non toxic, non corrosive and below 5.7%, is classed as non-flammable (ISO-10156) and, therefore, a safe solution.

Carrying Gas cylinder

N5NH5 gas in the portable 10 litre Integra® cylinder

The portable cylinder range is engineered in our innovative Integra® cylinder format including:

  • Built-in regulator – calibrated and maintained by Air Products. There is no need to buy and maintain a regulator again
  • 40 litres per minute flow rate delivered at 4 bar pressure - optimal requirements for leak detection operations
  • Protective valve guard – integrated handle prevents damage to the inbuilt regulator and other critical components
Carrying Gas Cylinder

Don’t be deceived by the compact dimensions of the specifically designed high pressure 10 litre cylinders. The cylinder is filled at 300 bar pressure, meaning more available gas than standard 200 bar equivalents. As the gas lasts longer, this means fewer re-orders and collection/delivery charges.

Combine this with the ergonomic handling features, the 10 litre Integra® cylinder is a more practical, safer and cost-effective solution than traditional 200 bar cylinders.
